Directorate of Education using money as an excuse for the schools issue in Aleppo neighborhoods !

Hashtag Syria received many complaints from citizens in the neighborhood of Jab al-Qubba around “AlOrouba” school, which was supposed to be rehabilitated and back into the service after almost three years since the end of the war in the city, the school is near to the Department of forensic medicine in Aleppo. After Hashtag’s visit to the school, it turned out that the school still suffering from the effects of the war. One of the residents told hashtag: “No one has entered the school since the end of the war

Despite the lack of schools in the neighborhood, the school hasn’t back yet into the service, although that Al-Orouba school complex has three schools together. Where families claimed for reparation of the school in order to re revival it, since the students in the neighborhood strongly in need for it

Residents living in the vicinity of Qal’at Halab also complained that “Ahmad Darwish” school still out of service, where during the visit of Hashtag to the  school, it seemed to be closed. Special sources in the Department of School buildings referred that large amounts were allocated for the reparation of the school along with the archaeological “Ghassania” school, which supposed that it has scheduled to be under service this year. Although huge sums have been spent for reparation, except nothing has changed. The school is still out of service since there are accusations of theft for stealing monuments in coordination between the director of the old city and the Directorate of Education

We also received complaints from the residents of the “Alsukari” neighborhood about the Obda Ibn Jarrah school, which is still out of service despite the urgent need of the families, where the school needs some reparation to return back into the service, except it hasn’t repaired, which drove parents to put their children in schools filled of mainly students, where there’s 60 students in each class, as well as the situation in Bustan alKasr neighborhood

Except the situation in the Alsalheen neighborhood is different, where it’s free of schools, which forcing the students to cross long distances to get education despite there’s three schools in the neighborhood needs to be repaired.  Where the eastern neighborhoods suffering of the pressure on public schools, since the number of the students is 50 in each class of these schools

Director of Education in Aleppo Mr. Ibrahim Massu told Hashtag Syria: Ghassania School is in service, while the maintenance in progress in Ahmed Darwish School, also there’s reparations around Orouba school. The reparations of the school costed about 70 million S.Y.P and it ain’t back into service بor the time being. “The school is totally destroyed and we have put three schools in service in the AlSukari neighborhood, Massu said

He also referred that there are schools in the AlSalheen neighborhood in service, as he said. “More than 150 schools have been put in service, while there are 15 schools under maintenance, as we have postponed the high costed reparations schools for later,” Masu said. Whereas about the The director of education and director of the old city accusations for stealing monuments, Ibrahim Maso, strongly denied the charges, saying that there was one fence in the school, and it has been replaced. We’re doing the best we can within the available possibilities for returning back all Aleppo’s schools to service, Massu concluded
