Damascus Governorate has launched a comprehensive campaign to suspend illegal kiosks and organize the distribution of licensees in cities and municipalities, where the Municipality of Ashrafieh Sahnaya removed all illegal kiosks and hawkers from the streets.
The member of the executive office who specialized in Engineering, Mohammed Madawiya explained to “AlBaath” newspaper, that the governorate is continuing in this process at among all the streets of the governorate, especially after the decision that made by Ministry of Local Administration and the environment to quit of granting licenses for the kiosks until a new regulatory instructions issued, referring to the guides of the Governor according to the circular that addressed to all units And Municipalities in order to comply with the content of the decision which required of the municipalities to organize the distribution of kiosks according to the licensed area and the place.
Madawiya also referred that some of the kiosks have exceeded the specified area for them, in addition to the exploitation of the kiosk to sale unlicensed materials, considering that the issue of kiosks depends on the administrative unit responsibility from organization and control side, where the owner of the illegal kiosk pay double fees for overruns in case The infraction is not against the public interest and does not impede the movement of passers-by.
The most important question remains: Will the campaign be comprehensive without exceptions to all the illegal kiosks, or it will exclude some and imposed on others?!
