The Currency and Credit Council issued a decision to allow those coming to Syria to enter foreign) banknotes) up to the amount of 500 thousand dollars or its equivalent in other foreign currencies.
Thus, this decision canceled a previous decision issued by the Monetary and Credit Board in 2015, which was to allow all arrivals to Syria – except for those transiting through transit areas at Syrian airports and ports – to enter foreign banknotes up to the amount of $ 100,000, provided that they are declared.
The Syrian Currency and Credit Council required that it be duly declared in accordance with the forms approved by the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Authority for this purpose, and that a copy be kept.
