The Director General of Al-Mouwasat University Hospital, Essam Al-Amin, revealed that Al-Mouwasat Hospital has been designated to vaccinate all cadres in university hospitals in Damascus, and Al-Assad University Hospital has been designated to cover medical colleges.
Al-Amin added that the number of vaccinations exceeds the previous quantities, which are good quantities sufficient to gradually vaccinate the cadres and workers, especially as it is optional and not compulsory.
He explained that the vaccine needs low-temperature preservation methods, and that transporting it from one place to another may expose it to spoilage.
He pointed out that the introduction of the vaccine requires a logistical infrastructure, with the registration of complete patient data, and the allocation of a center equipped to avoid any side effects.
He stressed that the country is exposed to a fourth wave if the measures are not continued, explaining that the ideal number for eliminating the virus is that 60 percent of citizens have been infected and cured or received the vaccine.
