“The Judicial Guard” appoints a chief of directors in “Syriatel”

The “judicial guard” of the telecommunications company “Syriatel” has appointed Mourid Sakhr Al-Atassi as chief executive officer of the company.

According to the appointment decision issued yesterday, Wednesday, Al-Atassi’s powers are to run the company’s daily affairs towards public and private authorities, sign the necessary correspondence, and manage the company’s internal administrative matters and personnel affairs.

The appointed judicial guard, Muhammad Mazen Al-Mahairi, issued a decision assigning Al-Atassi to the executive management of the company, successor to Magda Saqr, in September 2020, “in the interest of the work and its continuity in the company, based on the powers granted to him.”

The Syrian judiciary imposed a judicial guard on Syriatel after a lawsuit filed by the Ministry of Communications and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority against the company, to “guarantee the rights of the public treasury and the rights of shareholders in the company.”

Al-Atassi held the position of CEO of Syriatel from September 2, 2020 until June 15, and he also held the position of director of information management systems in the same company.

Al-Atassi worked as a senior consultant and project manager at Commerce Quest in London between 1999 and 2003, and as a systems engineer at Electronic Data Systems Company (EDS) in Canada between 1990 and 1999, according to the Al-Iqtisadi website.
