The Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that Jordan launched today a new vision for the development of its economy, entitled “Vision of Economic Modernization, Unlocking Future Potential”, in order to develop the structure of the economy and overcome its problems.
Overcoming Corona results
Jordan, which has faced economic difficulties deepened by the Corona virus pandemic, seeks to support sustainable growth to confront the issues of poverty and unemployment, and to exploit opportunities in many sectors with added value and high competitive advantage, by empowering young people, motivating them and supporting their creativity, to be the “motor” in the construction process.
The Jordanian economy relies on the success of its new economic vision on many pillars, foremost among which is the status, respect and global appreciation of Jordan’s role in the region, an industrial sector that develops, its products reach (140) markets in the world, technical competencies, creative and pioneering youth, a unique state of stability and security, and a legacy of history full of achievements.
A breakthrough in the midst of crises
Jordan launched the vision of economic modernization under the auspices of His Majesty King Abdullah II, which emerged from the outcomes of the national economic workshop that was held at the Royal Hashemite Court, under royal directives, and to be a comprehensive, cross-governmental reference document in which more than 500 specialists, stakeholders and experts, and representatives of The public and private sectors, parliament, and civil society institutions, over a period of several months.
Jordan believes that this vision will be trans-governmental and concomitant with the comprehensive reform process, with the aim of re-spinning the wheel of activity at a higher pace, overcoming the consequences of the Corona virus pandemic, addressing unemployment rates, generating job opportunities and attracting new value-added investments.

This vision will be a guaranteed roadmap for the coming years, ensuring the unleashing of capabilities to achieve comprehensive sustainable growth, which ensures the doubling of job opportunities available to the people of the country, the expansion of the middle class and the raising of the standard of living to ensure a better quality of life for citizens.
Supported by the King of Jordan
The new phase of the national economy is supported by His Majesty King Abdullah II, who, in a message he addressed to Jordanians on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday on January 30, outlined the country’s future features.
In the message, His Majesty said: “We want a bright future in which we enhance our security and stability, and through which we proceed in the process of building to broader horizons of excellence, achievement and creativity.”
His Majesty added: “We want a future in which we regain our leadership in education, advance our economy, increase the capabilities and effectiveness of our public sector, and thrive in our private sector.”
