Yesterday, Friday, unknown persons launched a missile attack on the largest base of the US army in the largest Syrian oil fields with missiles.
Missiles targeted the military base of the US occupation forces in the Al-Omar oil field, east of the city of Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria, followed by an intense flight of US warplanes over the region.
Yesterday’s attack is the second this week, as the residential city in the Al-Omar oil field, which the American occupation forces take as a headquarters for its soldiers, was subjected to a missile attack that led to material damage.
The new attacks come after the American occupation forces and the militias of the “SDF” loyal to them, imposed a siege on the town of Thiban, adjacent to the oil field, for the fourth day in a row.
In this context, unknown persons today targeted a military checkpoint of the “SDF” loyal to the American occupation in the village of Suwaidan Island, east of Deir ez-Zor, with rocket-propelled grenades.
The attack was followed by clashes between the two parties, which led to the killing of two members of the “SDF” and the injury of others, before the attackers fled.
The US Army owns about 28 military bases in eastern Syria, and they take the form of a tight cordon that surrounds the sources of Syrian oil and gas, and their largest fields, which produce the majority of the country’s underground wealth.
The Al-Omar oil field, the largest oil field in Syria, contains the largest US bases.
The Syrian Oil Ministry revealed last week that “the American occupation forces and their mercenaries are stealing up to 66,000 barrels per day from the fields they occupy in eastern Syria out of a total daily production of 80.3 thousand barrels.”
