In a written question to the Speaker of the People’s Assembly, a member of Parliament , Suhail Salam Khader, demanded an interrogation of Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, and the ministers concerned with the decision to lift support under the parliament’s dome, wishing his colleagues to demand the same request.
Khader described the decision to cancel subsidies for large segments of the Syrians as a “dangerous precedent” that must be canceled immediately, considering that “if anything weakens the nation’s resolve, it is this decision,” as he put it.
Member of Parliament Khader confirmed that what the government has taken today is a provocative and ill-considered decision in terms of timing, standards, and conditions that it has set to lift support for segments of Syrian society, infecting employees and the families of martyrs and wounded, not to mention the serious mistakes and confusion that the citizen pays for.
He said, “If this indicates anything, it indicates that this government is either separate from reality, or has a goal that it seeks to implement, which is to create a gap between the citizen and his state and widening it with every new decision issued by it.”
