“The number of those who received the full anti-Coronavirus vaccines reached about 450 thousand people”, the Director of Health Care at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Razan Al-Tarabishi, announced.
While the number of people receiving a single dose of the anti-virus vaccine reached 650,000, according to Al-Tarabishi.
Al-Tarabishi considered that during the past few days, a “slight increase” was observed in the turnout for vaccination centers and hospitals designated to receive the vaccine.
Our World in Numbers website, based on data from the World Health Organization, according to its latest update on October 31, shows that 4.4 percent of the population in Syria received the anti-Coronavirus vaccine.
A few days ago, the World Health Organization announced that it had sent more than 1,300,000 doses of the Chinese “Sinovac” vaccine, which is anti-Coronavirus, via the “Kovax” platform, to Syria.
And last month, the government team approved the Ministry of Health’s plan to expand vaccination centers by opening all medical centers in the governorates to provide the vaccination service against the virus and using mobile teams for this purpose as well, with allocating mobile teams to visit ministries and public authorities to give the vaccine to those who wish from the workers.
Director of the Communicable and Chronic Diseases Directorate at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Jamal Khamis, said that high rates of vaccination have not been reached, for several reasons, including as a result of the scarcity of the platform, where vaccination rates did not exceed 3 percent, noting that the international vaccination plan requires that the vaccination rate be up to Now about 20 percent.
In a previous statement to “Hashtag”, Khamis referred to another point that led to the failure to register large numbers of vaccinators, and it relates to the fear of some citizens about taking the anti-Coronavirus vaccines, although global statistics confirmed that the rates of corona infection decreased significantly after following the vaccination policy and its circulation, and the largest Evidence for this is that in Syria so far, there have been no deaths from medical corona after the vaccine, which is considered safe… according to him.
Khamis pointed out that there are errors and false rumors about the vaccines, stressing that the vaccine strategy in the ministry is successful and effective in terms of providing service to citizens and setting up the platform that worked to organize the role and divide people according to their places to provide the service easily.
