A Syrian-Russian summit was held in Moscow between Presidents Bashar al-Assad and Vladimir Putin, during which they discussed the files of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and the measures taken to expand and develop it to achieve common interests.
The summit began with a long bilateral meeting between the two presidents, and was later joined by Foreign Minister Dr. Faisal Miqdad and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. They discussed joint cooperation between the armies of the two countries in the process of combating terrorism and completing the liberation of lands still under the control of armed organizations.
They also discussed the political steps taken, as the two sides stressed the importance of completing work on this track in order to reach consensus between the Syrian parties without any external interference. The discussions also touched on areas of economic cooperation between the two countries.
