On Friday, the Fire Brigade, Directorate of Agriculture and Civil Defense in Tartous, managed to put out the huge fire that broke out this afternoon in that area, which was caused by the recent “Israeli” aggression.
The fire spread over an area estimated at twenty dunums of agricultural and forestry lands, located between the villages of (Badriya, Al-Juba, Al-Wasat) in the countryside of Tartous, according to the Syrian newspaper Al-Watan.
It also participated in the firefighting operations with the support of the free zone fire trucks, the port and railways, and the mechanisms of the Technical Services Directorate, and in coordination with the readiness department of the governorate.
Tartous Governorate, in a post on its media office page on Facebook, asked citizens to be careful and not set fires, especially within agricultural lands and forests.
It also called on the governorate not to throw cigarette butts and to avoid everything that leads to fires, and if any appearance that suggests a fire is observed, report it.
Several fires broke out in Tartous countryside, since Thursday evening, as a result of the recent “Israeli” aggression that targeted points in the Tartous and Masyaf areas.
The aggression caused material losses and damage to homes and crops.
In mid-August, the Syrian air defenses confronted hostile targets in the skies of the coastal Tartous governorate, in conjunction with another aggression targeting the vicinity of the capital, Damascus, which led to the death of three soldiers.
The “Israeli” bombardment, whether artillery in the border areas, or through the occupation fighters in the Syrian depth, has been repeated over the past years, since the beginning of the crisis in the country in 2011.
Last July, the “Israeli” occupation launched an air raid targeting military sites in the Damascus countryside, which resulted in loss of life and equipment.
