The Syrian actor, Ayman Zaidan, announced his position on the “presidential elections” that will be held in Syria.
Zidan said in his interview with “Sky News Arabia” “I will support those who stayed 10 years who did not leave Syria, did not flee outside Syria, remained present during the war, despite the fact that the militants arrived at the doorstep of Damascus.”
“I will certainly support – frankly I mean – I will support President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad,” he added.
Regarding his previous statement that he was not a supporter of democracy, Zaidan replied that “democracy in the presence of two conditions of ignorance and poverty cannot be a true democracy, because through ignorance and poverty, electoral wills can be bought.”
“With ignorance and poverty there will be no democracy, but dictatorships with a different dress and form called democracy will be reproduced”, He explained.
