Decree granting a monthly financial reward to students and top students in the Republic and the governorates

President Bashar al-Assad issued Legislative Decree No. 26 of 2021, which provides for the granting of a monthly financial reward to students and top students, starting from the first of the month following the date of the issuance of the results of public examinations, and until the end of their university studies or studies in technical institutes, higher institutes, or their equivalent.

The decree stipulated that the reward would be according to the following: /25/ thousand SYP for each of: the first 15 students in the republic, and the first and second students in each governorate in the basic education certificate. And the first three students on the Republic in the preparatory certificate of religious.

And a reward of / 45 / thousand / SYP for each of: the first 15 students of the republic, and the first and second students for each governorate in the General Secondary Certificate, the scientific branch. And the first five students in the Republic, and the first and second students in each governorate, in the General Secondary Certificate, the literary branch.

And the first and second students from each governorate in the religious secondary certificate, the industrial and commercial vocational secondary certificate, and the art school.

And the first and second students of the republic in secondary certificates granted by secondary schools in other ministries.

The provisions of this Legislative Decree benefit students and top students in pre-sessional courses in 2021 who are still receiving this bonus as of the date of its effectiveness.

The decree comes within the framework of the constant endeavor to encourage and support outstanding academics, and with the aim of increasing the monthly financial reward set for the top students in the certificates of basic, preparatory, religious and secondary education in its various branches issued by the Ministry of Education and other ministries concerned with pre-university education, and increasing the number of beneficiaries of the reward.
