Issam Al-Amin, Director-General of Al-Mowasat Hospital, announced that work in the hospital will be restored to its previous era, that is, before the height of the third Corona pandemic.
In a special statement to “Hashtag”, Al-Amin confirmed the return of the outpatient clinics, the reception of all emergency cases, and the resumption of work in semi-elective surgery, which was stopped during the third wave of the epidemic.
Al-Amin pointed out that the curve of the Corona epidemic is stable after its decline, nearly 3 weeks ago, however, the failure to announce the return of work in the Mouwasat Hospital to its full capacity, is due to waiting for the results of the large gatherings that took place during the celebration of the Syrian presidential elections.
And because of the large gatherings of citizens during the celebrations, the fear of an increase in the number of infections increased, due to the citizens’ failure to adhere to the precautionary measures for the virus, and the failure to wear medical muzzeI, during those gatherings, and thus the fear of a fourth wave of the Corona virus, so it was waited another week by announcing the return of work in all departments of the hospital, according to its director.
The Director of Al-Mowasat Hospital, confirmed that there is no fourth peak of the virus so far, and therefore the situation has returned to normal to what it was previously two and a half months ago in the hospital, while observing the epidemiological curve.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health recorded 20 new infections with the Corona virus, bringing the total number to 24,659 cases.
And 5 cases of the recorded injuries were cured, bringing the total number to 21,635.
And 3 deaths were recorded, bringing the total number to 1,793.
The second dose of the vaccine has begun
On the latest developments in vaccination against the Corona virus, Al-Amin said that in the first batch of vaccines that arrived in Syria, 150 were vaccinated with the Chinese vaccine “Sinopharma” for the medical staff who are in direct contact with those infected with the Corona virus.
And Al-Amin continues: “The second batch of Russian Sputnik V vaccines arrived, according to which 1,500 additional were vaccinated, with the first dose, and preparations are now underway to receive the second dose of the vaccine.”
Regarding the side effects resulting from the vaccine, the director of Al-Mowasat Hospital indicated that they did not exceed mild effects of heat that did not last from 24 to 48 hours, and pain in the puncture site, stressing that there have been no serious allergic complications so far.
