For the first time since the beginning of the crisis, a Russian company operates flights to Syria

Private sources told Hashtag correspondent in Russia that flights from Russia to Syria have been opened with the participation of a Russian airline.
According to the source, thanks to the commercial representation of the Russian Federation in the Syrian Arab Republic, and in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Defense, the first flight will be opened on July 22nd.

The trade representative of the Russian Federation in the Syrian Arab Republic, Georgy Asatrian, told the source: When I traveled to Damascus with the Syrian Cham Wings Company, I asked myself why aren’t our airlines flying to our friendly country? I decided to take a closer look at this issue. Many Russian airlines were afraid of sanctions, but we managed in the end.

According to the commercial representative, the plane will fly on the Makhach Qala – Damascus, Makhach Qala – Lattakia route. And in 3-4 months there will be direct flights from Moscow to Damascus and Latakia.
