Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces and Minister of Defense, General Ali Abdullah Ayoub, paid an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan today, at the invitation of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, Major General Yousef Al-Hunaiti.
According to SANA, the two sides held an extensive meeting, during which they discussed cooperation relations between the armies of the two brotherly countries and prospects for its development, stressing the importance of coordination on common issues of concern to the two countries, especially in the field of combating terrorism and controlling borders.
The Jordanian channel “Al-Mamlaka” said that the Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff discussed with the Minister of Defense, General Ayoub, issues of common interest, foremost of which is coordinating efforts to ensure the security of the common borders between the two countries and the situation in southern Syria.
During the meeting, they discussed many issues of common concern, foremost of which is coordinating efforts to ensure the security of the common borders between the two countries, the situation in southern Syria, combating terrorism, and joint efforts to confront cross-border smuggling, especially drug smuggling.
The Jordanian channel said that the meeting came within the framework of the common concern to increase coordination in the field of border security to serve the interests of the two countries.
During their meeting, the two sides affirmed the continuation of coordination and future consultation on all common issues.
General Ayoub was accompanied on his visit by a number of senior officers of the General Command.
