Social media circulated a video clip showing a person dragging a lioness by a chain in the streets of Damascus, accompanied by a photographer carrying a camera, which raised the astonishment of the followers.
The video received a response from many followers, with comments of surprise and horror at the presence of a predator in the streets without any accountability or control.
The artist, Adnan Abu Al-Shamat, shared the video on his Facebook page, commenting, “Everything is unbelievable and is not possible in all the world, but we do it as if it were normal and ordinary? A lioness walking with its owner in the streets of Damascus .. Is this normal or not?
The artist, Amal Arafa, shares the video and says: “How does this act happen?! .. Someone walks with his lion on the road in the center of Damascus.. Is it not enough for us to be afraid of each other?!!
And many observers demanded that the owner of the lioness be punished, as it frightens passers-by.
One of the commentators said: “If the news is true, he must be imprisoned with the lioness until it starves and eats him!! Is it reasonable that the country’s institutions allow such manifestations?”
Another commentator supported him by saying: “He must be arrested and prevented. Predators cannot be within the inhabited places.”
Similar manifestations sometimes spread in some villages or towns in Syria, in which some of the war-rich or upstarts brag about their predators among the residents, but this is the first time that this occurs in the center of Damascus, as shown in the video.
