Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh confirmed successful talks with the Iranian side, and we signed an executive program and agreed to discuss investment plans for the suspended facilities.
During a press conference held at the Ministry of Information today, Sabbagh called on the private sector to participate in restarting the destroyed and stalled companies offered for investment.
The Minister of Industry stated that the amount of direct and indirect damage suffered by the industrial sector during the terrorist war on Syria is estimated at more than 1069 billion Syrian pounds for the public and private sectors, adding that the number of registered private sector establishments reached 137,000 industrial and craft establishments, of which 87,000 are operating and 50,000 facilities shut down.
Sabbagh indicated that 523 industrial, craft and investment facilities entered production during the third quarter of this year, in addition to licensing 923 industrial facilities, which confirms that the industrial sector is the most attractive sector for investors due to the appropriate investment climate, in addition to the facilities and exemptions provided by the government to those wishing to enter this field. .
Sabbagh indicated that work is being done to localize industries with high technological content and increase the added value of the industrial product by supporting agricultural and livestock manufacturing and small and medium-sized companies, in addition to expanding the investment base in the manufacture of alternative energies components through the establishment of laboratories and companies or participation among them, pointing out that there are many companies that have been established in this field in several governorates.
