The “Self-Administration” in northern and eastern Syria has canceled the final exams for the third preparatory and third secondary certificates.
The “Education Board” of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration said in a statement, “The evaluation of the student in the ninth grade will be conducted as it is evaluated in the seventh and eighth grades, where the average grades (seventh, eighth and ninth) are considered the student’s graduation mark in the preparatory stage.“
The authority added, “The evaluation of the student in the twelfth grade will take place just as students are evaluated in the tenth and eleventh grades, and the average marks for the tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades are considered the student’s graduation mark in the secondary stage.”
And the “Kurdish administration” of northeastern Syria has imposed its curricula on the areas under its control since 2015, in basic and secondary public schools, and forced parents to send their children there, despite the lack of international recognition of the certificates it grants, amid great rejection from the people and residents of those regions, who prefer the internationally recognized curricula of the Syrian state.
During the past years, hundreds of students and teachers demonstrated against the Kurdish curricula, during which they demanded that the SDF militias allow the opening of special courses for the curricula approved by the Syrian government, while the SDF dispersed the protesters by force, and arrested a number of teachers and students.
