On Thursday, November 4, additional military reinforcements for the Syrian army arrived in the northern countryside of Raqqa, in preparation for any military aggression that Turkey might launch against areas in north and northeastern Syria.
Local sources in Raqqa confirmed to “Hashtag” that dozens of members of the Syrian army entered the northern countryside of Raqqa, accompanied by cars and military vehicles, heading towards the town of Ain Issa.
The sources added that the reinforcements left earlier, from the Tabqa military airport, southwest of Raqqa.
The past few days have witnessed joint military maneuvers between forces from the Syrian army, Russian forces and the “Syrian Democratic Forces” in the countryside of Ain Issa and Tal Abyad.
The maneuvers coincided with the arrival of Syrian army reinforcements to the area.
This comes at a time when there is talk of an agreement stipulating the partnership between the Syrian and Russian forces on the one hand, and the “SDF” on the other hand, in controlling the areas of northeastern Syria, in exchange for protecting the area from Turkish attacks.
Ankara had threatened to launch a military aggression in the north and northeastern regions of Syria against the Syrian Democratic Forces, and for this purpose it summoned its affiliated factions to coordinate about the date of the aggression and the tasks assigned to these factions on the ground.
