The Syrian joint company with Emirates Wells Services is seeking to set up rehabilitation programs for oil wells whose productivity has become weak.
The assistant general manager of the company, Imad Hamdan, stated in a special statement to “Hashtag” that the company was established in 2006 and is still continuing until now.
And it is the only one in Syria that provides “open bottom” measurement services to obtain probes specialized in the production measurements of the closed bottom, through which the productive fields can be developed.
He pointed out that this work is done by relying on the expert local cadres.
Which enabled the company to continue to work despite all the difficulties of providing spare parts.
As a result of the Western economic boycott, given that all the equipment used was made in Germany.
Hamdan indicated that the devices used are of high technology and were limited to some international companies.
And that the company is divided between 50% of the Syrian oil sector and 50% of the joint company with UAE.

Hamdan pointed out that the Syrian Oil Company or the operating companies are tasked with digging the well.
And then their role comes to carry out the measurements through the use of special electrical and radiological devices that are lowered into the well to determine and perforate the oil and gas-bearing fields.

After collecting information from all the “probes”, the amount of oil and gas that can be obtained can be determined.
He explained that without these measurements, the work becomes random, unstudied and does not lead to results, likening the measurements to an eye that allows seeing inside.

It is worth mentioning that one of the devices used in the company to carry out the measurement tasks is: The acoustic imaging device, which works on imaging the well wall by means of acoustic scanning.
This is done by measuring the time distance between the surface of the device and the well wall and measuring the reflected signal.
seismic scanning device
To determine the speed of sound transmission in rock layers.
On the basis of which geological maps are drawn and the layers that can contain compounds (oil or gas) are determined.
