Yesterday, Saturday, April 10, the Swedish capital, “Stockholm”, hosted a conference in which 39 representatives of the Syrian opposition forces and personalities participated, under the auspices of the founder of “Ulf Palm International”, to discuss the representation of the Syrian opposition.
In a statement, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) confirmed that it participated in this meeting, “which aims to discuss a political vision that achieves the best and most wonderful representation of the Syrian opposition,” which is the permanent demand of the SDC, given that it is not present in the Constitutional Committee and opposition entities. The official does not recognize it nor include it in its ranks.
The meeting witnessed the presence of representatives of the US State Department, which is the main supporter of the “SDC” and its military arm “SDF”, in addition to Britain and Switzerland.
“Northeast Syria is an oasis of democracy, while the rest of Syria is either dictatorship or fascism,” said Ilham Ahmed, the head of the executive body of the SDC.
According to SDC, the first day of the two-day meeting witnessed three sessions, the first of which dealt with the reality of the Syrian scene and the expected scenarios for the future of Syria as a state and homeland in light of the faltering of the political process and the possibility of protecting Syria’s unity in light of the division and the current occupation and the foreign military presence in it. In addition to the role of democratic forces in finding a way out for Syria from its current reality.
The meeting also discussed the concept of the decentralized system, and the nature of the modern state system according to its description, in addition to the role of democrats and work to unify them and organize their differences within the framework of their unity.
The meeting was attended by the Islamic preacher “Mohamed Habash”, in addition to a member of the Women’s Advisory Council, “Zouzan Alloush” and “Majdoline Hassan” and a member of the coalition, “Elys Mufrej”, and via the Internet, “Zaydoun Al-Zoubi” who is in charge of conducting the sessions of the Women’s Advisory Council, in addition to participating in the meeting. This meeting is held for personalities and opposition forces at a time when the opposition coalition is witnessing a severe internal crisis, manifested in the dismissal of a number of its members, who formed a new entity following this crisis
