Syrian weightlifter Maan Asaad crowned gold and silver in the Mediterranean Games

The Syrian Olympic weightlifter Maan Al-Asaad won two medals in the Mediterranean championship in weightlifting + 102 kg, at the conclusion of the participation of the Syrian delegation in the Mediterranean tournament hosted by Oran, Algeria.

The gold medal was won by Maan Assaad in the Hang cleans lift, lifting 247 kg after three attempts. His direct opponent was Algerian Walid Bidani, who came second with a difference of five kg, and the Egyptian weightlifter Ahmed Gaber came third with a wide difference from the two champions.

Maan won the silver medal with a snatch of 197 kg, behind Algerian Walid Bidani by five kg, and the Egyptian weightlifter Ahmed Gaber came third.
Thus, Syria raised its medals to four gold and three silver.
