The director of the Children’s Hospital is surprised by the infections with black fungus!

The Director of the Children’s Hospital, Dr. Rustam Makiya, said that determining the type of infection with the black fungus in children infected with the Corona virus is difficult in Syria, because the specialized devices that determine the type of virus are not available in the country.

The hospital director was surprised by what is being reported in the media about the preparation and statistics of black fungus infection, especially since the necessary devices to detect it are not available.

Makiya confirmed, in a special statement to “Hashtag”, that even the rest of the other types of mutations from the virus cannot be detected by the devices available in Syria, and therefore the talk about the presence or denial of these infections is inaccurate, as it is not based on any scientific numbers or Specialized examinations.

The director of the Children’s Hospital added, “The severity of the Corona pandemic has eased in the country in general, and the hospital has a capacity of 10 to receive and care for children infected with Corona, and during the past month, the percentage of doubts and injuries among sick children in the hospital ranged from 5 to 6 suspected cases, and most of the results of nasal swab that It was negative.”

The Director-General of Al-Mowasat University Hospital in Damascus, Dr. Issam Al-Amin, had denied the existence of out-of-control cases, or indicating the existence of a pandemic, as happened in some countries.

In a previous statement to “Hashtag”, he confirmed that there have been cases of black fungus disease in Syria since before the infection with the Corona virus.

He pointed out that these cases of infection are not new and have been in Syria for years, adding: “Despite the existence of these cases, we have not witnessed an outbreak or increase in the number of infections.

Al-Amin said that during the past month, there were 5 injuries, and the month that preceded it, 3 injuries, and the number of these cases per month has not changed for years.

He returned and confirmed that all cases are treated until the stage of recovery, as black fungus is a disease that affects the sinuses and is treated surgically and then treated with a specific medicine.
