The first hospital from the world of “Metaverse” in UAE

The UAE healthcare company, Thumbay Group, has announced that it will launch the world’s first virtual Metaverse hospital, within the next few months.
Through augmented and virtual reality technologies, Thumbay Group will create remote consultations with doctors, which will help potential patients check before choosing a healthcare provider.
Dr Thambay Modin, founder and president of Thumbay Group, said: “We expect to launch it before October of this year. This will be a full virtual hospital.
This technology in healthcare could become very useful for long-term patients or people with permanent disabilities.”
It supports medical tourism
Group executives believe it will also help health tourism, so that potential patients can check before choosing a healthcare provider.
Dr Thambay Modin, Founder and Chairman of Thumbay Group, said: “We are already working on it and expect to launch it before October of this year.

It will be a complete virtual hospital.” Virtual reality in the health system could become a way for long-term care patients or people with permanent disabilities to experience the surrounding world.
Modine explained that by giving patients virtual and augmented reality headsets, health workers can help the patient feel at home.
For example, a Sri Lankan person with us was paralyzed for a long time after a car accident, and all his sensory movements stopped, but only his brain was working. With the new technology, he can actually experience and visit his room in Sri Lanka.
According to Modine, this will motivate long-term caregivers and give them hope that they will be able to return home.
Integration of artificial intelligence
Aside from incubating Metaverse, Akbar Modin Thambay, Group Vice President, said, “The group is integrating AI into its hospital system.
He pointed out that using virtual reality technology and cameras, will be possible to identify the patient from the car’s number plate and face.

“When the patient arrives at the front desk, his file is already open,” he said. “The process of showing ID or insurance will be cancelled, and this is implemented throughout Thumbay University Hospital.”
He continued, “If the patient goes to the pharmacy, the cameras will recognize his face, and the system will show the pharmacist that the patient has come to take his medicine.”
UAE…Leader in “Metaverse”
The public and private sectors in UAE are highly dependent on Metaverse.
Last January, UAE Ministry of Health and Community Protection launched the Metaverse Healthcare Customer Service Center.
In the Meta Health environment, customers can request information, submit documents, pay fees, and chat with real people, with users’ real faces displayed in the virtual room instead of avatars.
