The Ministry of Higher Education: Private education in universities opens the way for corruption

The Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Maher Melendi, told “Hashtag” that making room for private education for university professors opens an area for corruption.
This is against the background of a verbal circular issued by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to universities regarding the need to abide by this.

Regarding the current rumors about banning professors from giving private lessons, Melendi explained that “referring any university professor to a disciplinary council in the event of giving him private lessons is not a recent decision, but rather it is a law that has been in place for a long time.”
He added that this matter has many caveats, because it gives the opportunity to distinguish between one student and another, and this is unacceptable according to him, and that the student who wants to benefit from the lessons must be treated like his colleagues to study the same lectures in the classroom.
Melendi indicated that a university professor is not entitled to give any private lessons, but is only authorized to give lessons either in public or private universities based on the approval of the government universities to which he is affiliated.
As for the low wages of a university professor, which can sometimes force him to give private lessons, Melendi said that there are other legitimate ways for a university professor to improve his financial situation, such as teaching in private universities, scientific seminars and research, and also he can hold professional courses within the university framework, and the profits belong to the university professor And the university alike
In an attempt by the hashtag to poll university professors on the old new circular.
One of them described it as positive, because if a university professor gives private lessons to his subject or to a number of students, the possibility of leaking questions of his subject exists, or that their rates become high compared to their colleagues.
And he indicated that some kind of favoritism and problems may arise, and from this point of view, the university professor said that it is not possible to compare the school teacher who gives private lessons with the university professor, because none of the teachers knows the final questions, and the possibility of leakage is very small, but the university professor is himself whoever puts questions for his subject at the end, and therefore it is not desirable for the university professor to give private lessons to his students.
