The National Defense Commander in Deir ez-Zor, Firas Al-Jaham, denied in a special statement to “Hashtag” the existence of any refusal by the formation members to the comprehensive settlement of the wanted civilians and military personnel in the province, which the state started more than ten days ago.
“Jaham” confirmed that the formation of the National Defense as one of the auxiliary forces of the Syrian Arab Army that fought terrorism initiated its members from the first day of the settlement process to settle their situation, noting that this included those wanted for military and reserve service, “and none of the defense elements have ever carried a weapon against the state.” Rather, they were among the first to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the homeland, and the numbers of martyrs and wounded testify to this in all regions of the governorate and throughout the years of confrontation with terrorism until now,” he said.
And the commander of the National Defense indicated that all the elements of the “National Defense” have settled their situation, starting with the city of Deir ez-Zor and its countryside, and now in the city of Al-Mayadin, in which the settlement process began the day before yesterday, leaving the role of the elements in Al-Bukamal, to join the procession of the settlement, in which they see the best solution to their situation in service. Among the military units of the Syrian Arab Army.
Al-Jaham considered that what is being promoted about the refusal of the elements of the “National Defense” to the settlement is pure lies and rumors whose launchers have deplored the success of the settlement process, which came in response to popular demands and a fundamental solution in terms of restoring security and stability in Deir ez-Zor and Syria in general, and it is a good beginning towards liberating what remains of the land under The American occupation and its militias.
“Jaham” described these promotions as slanders that were belied by the large numbers of those who went to the settlement centers from all regions in Deir ez-Zor, and the turnout for them by wanted persons in the occupied Euphrates island region was greater, so there were many rumors that targeted them, and inevitably this prolonged the formation of the National Defense and its elements who are committed to any decision is made and it is definitely in their favour.
According to Al-Jaham, the number of the “National Defense” members whose status has been regularized has exceeded 500, and work is underway on the rest of them.
