The Ministry of Awqaf denied what is being circulated on social media that there is an organization of Hajj groups.
The ministry clarified in a statement that all data and procedures published on social media for organizing Hajj groups are incorrect and issued by parties hostile to the Syrian people.
The ministry noted that the only authority authorized to organize Hajj affairs is the Ministry of Awqaf in the Syrian Arab Republic.
The ministry indicated that Saudi Arabia still prohibits the Hajj pilgrimage for the Syrian people until now.
It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia, as part of the measures to boycott Syria, has taken a decision since the beginning of the Syrian crisis not to grant Hajj visas to those coming from Syria, while Syrians outside Syria in recent years have obtained Hajj approvals in coordination with the Syrian opposition coalition.
A few days ago, the Higher Hajj Committee (affiliated with the Syrian opposition coalition) announced
Saudi Arabia has set Syria’s quota for Hajj at 10,186.
It seems that it was this announcement that caused confusion among the Syrians, which led some to believe that luck was lifted from granting Hajj visas to Syrians within the areas under the control of the Syrian government.
