The Ministry of Transport announced today the operation of the Syrian Railways Corporation, the “Train Set” passenger train, according to a new morning flight from Lattakia towards Tartus.
The director of the railways in Latakia, Adnan Bikar, said, in exclusive statements to “Hashtag”, that the train is scheduled to depart from Latakia at 6.40 am and return from Tartous in the afternoon at 14.10 pm starting next Sunday.
The operation will be on all days of the week, except for the weekly and official holidays, and it will stop at all official stations. This operation will be added to the existing train trips operating on the Tartous-Lattakia-Tartous axis according to their approved dates and at symbolic and reduced prices.
Bitar added that the train set was brought from Aleppo, and it includes five railway wagons, and it can transport 283 passengers back and forth, on a daily basis.
The director of the railways in Lattakia indicated that this step would reduce a lot of time and save money for citizens, amid the traffic crisis in various governorates.
